Designing Experiential Exercises and Simulations

If you’ve experienced Jerry’s workshops, my workshops, or the AYE Conference, you know the power of experiential exercises and simulations to spark significant learning.

During the workshop, each participant will have the opportunity to run and then debrief an experiential exercise. After each exercise, we’ll review what worked well, and how the student could make the exercise more effective. We will also discuss how the same exercise might be adapted in support of different objectives.

Each participant should come prepared with one or more experiential exercises, anything from a raw idea that needs development to an oft-delivered exercise that could use revitalization.

Come learn how to design exercises and simulations that will engage your students and stimulate deep learning.

What you will learn:

  • Principles for creating effective experiential exercises
  • How to vary existing exercises to emphasize different learning objectives
  • Methods for debriefing experiential exercises

Logistics: The workshop will be in the Albuquerque area. The workshop runs five (5) days.
Fees: The workshop fee is $1200. Participants are responsible for their own room, board, and transportation. Registration is limited to 18.
